- Q - Do I need to attach the brackets to wall studs?
- A - Sometimes. You need to attach the brackets to a solid backing. If you don't have solid backing at the wall top, you will need to attach the brackets to the wall studs.
- Q - Can I paint the moulding?
- A - Yes, with latex or oil based primer and paint.
- Q - Can I pre-paint the mouldings?
- A - Yes, you can pre-paint as long as the surfaces that will be glued are protected. We also recommend not painting joints until after sanding.
- Q - What is the best filler to use for the joints?
- A - Our experience is that DAP® Crack Shot High Performance Spackle works well.
- Q - What type of caulking do you recommend?
- A - Any paintable latex caulking will work, but we recommend DAP® Dynaflex 230.
- Q - What if my inside corners are not square?
- A - The coping corners are designed for 90 degree walls but offer a few degrees of flexibility.
- Q - What is the radius of the bullnose corners?
- A - 3/4 inch radius.
- Q - Can I use the bullnose corner on a 1 1/2 inch radius bullnose?
- A - Yes, however you will have a small crescent-shaped gap at the bottom that is easily caulked.
- Q - Can I sand the material?
- A - Yes, regular sand paper or a detail sander works well.
